Winter's Hill 2014 Pinot Noir

Winter's Hill 2014 Pinot Noir

At the highest quality tier of Lundeen Pinot Noirs lie the Single Vineyard bottlings. These wines are sourced from excellent vineyards that are capable of expressing the beautiful, intriguing, and complex elements of Pinot Noir in general as well as the distinctive characteristics from a given vineyard. In the winery, Pinot Noir grapes are handled very gently and encouraged to begin fermentation without addition of yeast. After a cool start, temperatures can get quite warm, aiding thorough if gentle extraction. The resulting wines are pure expressions of Pinot Noir that remain light on their feet, rich on the palate, and very elegant with modest alcohols and vibrant acidity.

Vineyard Overview

Winter’s Hill is an estate winery and vineyard perched high on the western edge of Oregon’s Dundee Hills AVA. The beautiful property has both the classic volcanic soil of the Dundee Hills as well as excellent exposure for the vines. The very oldest of which, Peter and Emily Gladhart planted in 1990, and those own- rooted Pommard clone vines are the source of this wine.
